Le Grand Bellevue, Gstaad, has reopened its doors for the summer season, which this year runs from the 16th of June to the 1st of October. One of the big attractions for guests in 2023 will be the newly launched range of activities, which include some incredible adrenaline-fuelled options, an opportunity for fans of food and culture to stretch their legs and activities that will help reset the mind and body.
Over recent years, it has become apparent that the hospitality sector needs to move beyond a relax and do nothing mantra for its guests, with the opportunity to embrace wellness, adventure, culture and nature, amongst others. Le Grand Bellevue, Gstaad is an excellent example of how a hotel can involve, and it is doing this through a whole host of new activities.
Le Grand Bellevue’s new offerings of high and low-impact exertions in and outside the property this summer will prove very appealing to everyone.
Sky-high fun
For the more active, something that should prove very appealing is the heli-hike and heli Qi-yoga experiences. After arriving mountaintop via private helicopter, guests can kickstart days with some energetic hiking in the company of the spectacular mountain vistas.
If you’d rather not jump head-first into anything too frenetic, guests can ease into the day with guided Qi-yoga, enjoying moments of extraordinary quiet in a serene and secluded Alpine setting.
Now that the mind and body have been quietened let us look at another of the activities which will raise pulse rates. If you want to exercise your body whilst keeping your feet on the ground (in the main), the Le Grand Bellevue’s Padel tennis courts are a great place to head to. Here, guests can improve their service and partake in the most popular sport of the season.
Le Grand Bellevue doesn’t subscribe to a one-size-fits-all programme. The activities and experiences it offers should please almost every type of active aficionado, and whilst on the topic of activities, we should mention that it also offers Tai Chi meditation, swimming in the wild, and SUP Yoga on Lake Arnensee, to help restore the body and mind.
It has also introduced something for culture fans and gourmands:
Grape Escape: Natural Wine and Cheese Pairing
When one thinks of Switzerland, something that will usually pop into one’s mind is Swiss Cheese; however, the country offers more than just dairy-based produce and is also home to some quite spectacular vineyards.
At Le Grand Bellevue, oenophiles can explore Vaud, the second-largest wine-making region in the country, which offers a range of diverse wines from 55 grape varieties, including local and organic curations with head-sommelier Olivier Gastal-Pinach.
Guests can visit some of the world’s most photogenic vineyards with a private guide before enjoying a wine tasting and pairing. Back at Le Grand Bellevue, the vaulted stone ceiling wine cellar at LEONARD’s (15 Gault&Millau points) awaits with tailored tastings of renowned vintages or exceptional five-course Krug champagne dinners.
Gastronomic guests are invited to embark on artisanal cheese extravaganzas with concierge-arranged organic dairy farm visits or uncover a range of regional choices at Molkerei (Gstaad’s cheese grotto), within an easy 10-minute walk of Le Grand Bellevue to complement winery finds.
Culinary indulgencies continue at the hotel with alfresco farmer’s table lunches or dinners set amidst awe-inspiring alpine surroundings, featuring a locally sourced and seasonally selected tasting menu.
