Maisons Pariente’s Parisian gem Le Grand Mazarin has announced the participants in its ‘Artist in Residence’ window takeover display programme.
The ‘Artist in Residence’ Window Takeover Programme aims to showcase the Parisian art scene. Each quarter, the hotel partners with new emerging or established artists to decorate the window display viewable from Rue de la Verrerie. Below, we look at the three announced artists who will be taking part.
Marin Montagut – 17th October 2024 to 22nd January 2025
The first artist to pick up their paintbrush is Marin Montagut, a French illustrator and designer who has collaborated with Le Grand Mazarin on a bespoke tarot card-inspired window display.
Under his eponymous brand, Montagut creates objects that fill gaps in his everyday life and stages them in his Parisian boutique on Rue Madame in the 6th arrondissement.
Montagut’s watercolour artworks transport viewers into his delicate, poetic, and joyful world. For the window design at Le Grand Mazarin, Montagut has created an enchanting display of a life-sized tarot deck, inviting passersby to discover a magical and luminous world that showcases the artist’s signature style.
Montagut commented, “Creating this life-sized, hand-painted tarot deck is, for me, a new and deeply meaningful way to express myself. Each card is a gateway into a poetic universe, an exploration of symbols that invites us to dream.”
Leona Rose – 24th January to 25th March 2025
The next artist to take over the window display at Le Grand Mazarin will be Leona Rose, a young contemporary French artist.
Inspired by her travels, alongside shamanic, bohemian, and ethnic influences, Rose’s artworks reflect her imagined world of colourful plants and feathered animals.
Working on both canvas and murals, she also creates wallpapers and unique visual identities in her unique style.
Helena Soubeyrand – April 2025 – June 2025
Helena Soubeyrand will follow in Marin Montagut and Leona Rose’s footsteps, bringing her techniques to Le Grand Mazarin’s windows.
Having spent 15 years as an actress in theatre and film, Soubeyrand developed a love of rehearsal, emotion, and the art of precision.
Working equally well with acrylics, pastels, and inks, she creates distinct portraits that draw inspiration from the blend of her cultural heritage.
Retaining her taste for public performance, Soubeyrand also creates live portraits, creating videos of herself drawing asymmetrically with two hands that are gaining huge interest on social media.
