If you feel like a coiled-up spring and your body is at a bursting point filled with too much unnecessary frustration, head over to Leadenhall Market’s Screamatorium and let it all out!
There’s a saying we use here in the UK, and it’s “Better out than in”, and this is certainly true if you are sitting there overflowing with frustration. If we’re being honest, the way the world works is bound to make all, but the most proficient monk stressed. Instead of letting it sit inside, eating away, you should try letting it all out in a Screamatorium, and the good news is that Leadenhall Market is home to the first one in the UK.
The pandemic, rising costs, global conflicts, political upheavals, do this, not that, you can’t say this, you can’t think that; it’s enough to drive any Brit bonkers! With summer officially at an end, many will still yearn to be away on holiday; instead, they’re back at work with stress levels only heading one way.
To help stressed Londoners, Leadenhall Market is opening the UK’s first Screamatorium, where visitors and City workers alike can release some pent-up tension through several stress-busting interventions.
The Screamatorium experience is free and will provide a chance to really let it out with a big old scream into a decibel meter and bash out the blues with a traditional Whack-A-Mole game, followed by a calming meditation zone and cake corner with a delicious sweet treat from Leadenhall’s patisserie Aux Merveilleux de Fred – helping people hold on to that relaxed, summer feeling they’ve been enjoying over the past few months.
New research from Leadenhall Market shows that the most common way office workers deal with a stressful day is to step outside for a breather (45% doing so), and 40% of those based in London will go for a walk around the block to decompress; the Screamatorium is there to help – open throughout the working day as well as being available for an evening vent. It will be open for screams from Tuesday 27th to Friday 30th September from 11.30 am to 7:00 pm daily, and as mentioned, it is free to visit, with no need to book.
Once calm has been restored and moods boosted, Leadenhall Market’s 35 boutique shops, restaurants and bars will be on hand, serving plenty of food & drink to replenish energy levels and all the latest seasonal fashion for some retail therapy (check with individual outlets for opening times).
