Maurice Lacroix has added to its circle of friends, the latest member being the Croatian athlete Lidija Lijić, a world champion in freediving.
Lidija Lijić is no ordinary human; in fact, her ability to stay underwater on a single breath for 5 minutes and 43 seconds elevates her far beyond average. Add to this, she is a multi-record-breaking world champion in freediving, and you can see why the brand is so excited to have her in its circle.
Lidija is the latest outstanding sportsperson to partner with the brand. Other existing friends of the brand from the world of sports include Sarah Atcho, Anders Mol & Christian Sørum, Sarah Forster and the golfers Kim & Morgane Métraux.
“I contacted Maurice Lacroix because I found that we share common values. My discipline is less glamorous than certain others, and few are nominated. I like the idea that this brand believes in people.
I see myself mirrored in Maurice Lacroix’s motto, which is ‘Success is a journey, not a destination’. I need a partner that understands me and supports me in my achievements, someone who will back me in both success and defeat.” – Lidija Lijić.
During her visit to the manufacturer in Saignelégier, Lidija Lijić’s determination, as well as her insatiable curiosity, impressed Stéphane Waser, Managing Director of the brand: “Lidija is a woman with a very precise and ambitious logbook! She’s afraid of nothing and is constantly surpassing herself.
“We love her attitude since, at Maurice Lacroix, we believe that the only limits we have are those that we set for ourselves. We are happy to be a part of her adventure!”
What is Maurice Lacroix’s Circle of Friends?
The Circle of Friend is a collective of artists, entrepreneurs and world-class athletes. Each friend represents a different field while sharing the same ethos of the brand. In loose terms, they believe success is a journey and not a destination.
One of the aspects Maurice Lacroix and their friends are keen to promote is that we all need to learn from both our successes and our failures. This ongoing process should be done while not losing sight of one’s ultimate goal.
Each of the men and women in the circle was chosen due to their impressive and honest personalities, alongside their willingness to keep striving even in the face of what many would see as insurmountable obstacles.
