Modelled on traditional Philippine rice barns, Sulu Terraces feel like luxe treehouses, with everything 21st Century travellers expect, nestling beneath exposed beams and thatch. At 33 square metres, they’re also surprisingly roomy.
Crystalline glass walls frame the lush greenery and languid palms around the four new Palmera Glass Villas.
Living space spills out onto a shady lanai – an open-sided veranda, perfect for spotting peacocks roaming the lawns while you’re sipping sundowners at Dusk.
Some of the larger villas are made for all-out indulgence. The 200 square metre Narra Pool Villas, as their name suggests, feature heated infinity pools with hydro-jets set in beautifully tended private gardens.
A room with a view is one thing. These palatial pads have pools with views, too – and from their elevated position, you can take in the forested San Benito ridge rising above the surrounding jungle.
For inducing Instagram envy, however, it has to be The Lakan, a jaw-dropping, design-led hideaway complete with calming koi ponds set within its own walled gardens, and a 61 square metre infinity pool, teetering over dense tropical greenery. Its spacious living area and second bedroom (with superking-sized bed) make The Lakan ideal for holidaying with friends or extended family, but you’d be forgiven for keeping it all to yourself.
