It may be over 120 years since beloved English author Beatrix Potter first brought Peter Rabbit and their friends to life in her now-famed children’s books. But for one Lake District Hotel – the Potter enjoyment never fades, with guests visiting the author’s former holiday home from across the world.
To mark the continued love for Beatrix Potter, Lindeth Howe Hotel has re-launched its Beatrix Potter Experience package for the 16th year in a row.
The hotel, located just a stone’s throw from Lake Windermere, was purchased by Potter in 1915 to become the home of her mother, Helen. This followed years of visits to Lindeth Howe by the Potter family, and the house was the site where Potter illustrated The Tale of Timmy Tiptoes in 1911 and The Tale of Pigling Bland in 1913.
More than a hundred years on, the hotel still welcomes guests each year who want to immerse themselves in the world of Beatrix Potter and the tranquil setting of Lindeth Howe, which proved so inspirational.
Tony Holden, General Manager of Lindeth Howe, said, “The love for Beatrix Potter is enduring and spans the globe. We have welcomed guests from Japan and China to Canada and the USA, wanting to immerse themselves in her world and experience some of the tranquillity and beauty she experienced more than 100 years ago.
“It’s been 16 years since we first launched this Beatrix Potter Experience package, and we’re delighted to relaunch for 2025. We’re looking forward to more guests who want to learn more about Beatrix Potter and her beloved tales. This year marks 120 years since the publication of The Tale of Benjamin Bunny, and so no doubt we will have some fans of Peter’s sidekick here to stay to mark that occasion.”
The newly-relaunched Beatrix Potter Experience package now includes a 2-night stay at the award-winning Lindeth Howe, entry to the World of Beatrix Potter attraction and 24-hour Freedom of the Lake Ticket to explore Lake Windermere by boat.
Guests will also enjoy a box of 12 hand-crafted chocolates from the renowned local artisan, The Blind Chocolatier, cream tea and a glass of Prosecco (make that a bottle for Sunday night guests), breakfast and £30 towards dinner at the hotel’s award-winning restaurant.
Prices start from £696 for two adults for the package. For more details or to book your stay, please visit Lindeth Howe Beatrix Potter Experience or call 01539 445759.
