The Langham, London is proud to announce a partnership with artisan distillery Sipsmith for the launch of the Sipsmith Gin Palace, opening its doors from 13th September 2012.
Live jazz and opulent surroundings will transport guests back to the glamour of the mid 1800’s when Gin Palaces were at their most prolific in London and The Langham, London opened its doors for the first time.
The bar menu will celebrate the history of gin and take guests on a journey through time. Each cocktail will represent a different stage in the evolution of this British classic; from 1690 when gin was first born, to the invention of the first G&T in 1793 and finally arriving at the 21st century with the rise of molecular mixology.
The gin cocktails will be complemented by a selection of inspired tasting dishes from The Langham’s creative food and beverage team to reflect the elegance of the authentic grand gin palaces, including the Princess Louise in Holborn and Princess Victoria in Shepherd’s Bush.
Sipsmith is London’s first copper distillery to open for nearly two hundred years. Established in 2009, the brand has re-introduced the art of handcrafted, small-batch spirit production to the capital. Its classic London dry style gin uses 10 botanicals: Juniper berries, Coriander Seed, Angelica Root, Liquorice Root, Orris Root, Ground Almond, Cassia Bark, Cinnamon, Orange Peel and Lemon Peel.
The Sipsmith Gin Palace at The Langham will launch on 13th September 2012 on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights from 7pm until midnight.
