This summer, The Loren, Bermuda’s newest boutique hotel, invites visitors to celebrate Bermudian cuisine through sensational food and culinary experiences at their Summer Guest Chef Series.
The Loren’s Summer Guest Chef Series welcomes innovative, Michelin-recognised chefs to the island to showcase their culinary skills and celebrate the best of Bermuda’s unique cuisine through original menus and creative ingredients. The Guest Chef Series started in May this year and has welcomed a host of world-renowned chefs, including:
- JJ Johnson
- Nina Compton
- Brad McDonald
- Maneet Chauhan
- Dan Kluger
The chefs featured a range of cuisines, ranging from the Caribbean to neoclassical French and Indian fare. The overall theme was a celebration of the island’s heritage through the integration of authentic Bermudian flavours. These remarkable takes on Bermudian dishes have included salt cod fritters with peri-peri aioli and sweet plantain and purple sweet potato pie with coconut ice cream, and more.
Who’s next?
Chef Tiffany Derry will be turning up the heat from the 12th to the 14th of August to kick off the hottest month of the season. The celebrity chef, restauranter and TV personality is aiming to create a new awareness of the origins and delights of Southern cuisine by showcasing root vegetable cuisine and her heritage on the table.
