We are always looking out for the next big thing in the world of Jewellery Design, as you can imagine we are introduced to hundreds of very talented designers each year, but most don’t have that ‘X Factor’, the intangible and mysterious something that will elevate the good to the great. Some of the very talented people we have written about and followed have gone on to much greater heights and international acclaim, winning some of the industry’s most prestigious international awards such as New York based Alexandra Mor and the UK’s Andrew Geoghegan.
A jewellery designer that we came across recently is one of the very few that we feel does have the special talents to become a superstar within the world of jewellery design, Claudio Pino.
About Claudio Pino
Claudio is one of those designers that creates pieces that cleverly combines sculpture, art and jewels into something that not only looks completely individual at the same time beautiful. The combination of colours he uses is one of the main components within all his designs. He is passionate about gemstones and fascinated by their properties. He juxtaposes icy silver with the warm glow of gold, calm green emeralds with vivid red rubies, complimented with the fresh hue of white pearls. In his design, Claudio Pino searches for originality and integrity of expression while exploring various forms of communication in jewelry. When you browse Claudio’s collections, they all bear witness to the historical grandeur of jewelry making, while at the same time they are complemented by contemporary tones.
Claudio has previously exhibited at the Aaron Faber Gallery on 5th avenue, New York and in mid-2013, the Canadian Guild of Crafts in Montreal presented a Solo Show of his amazing creations. In addition, his rings are included in the Lark Jewellery Books of 1000 Rings: Inspiring Adornments for the Hand, 500 Wedding Rings: Celebrating a Classic Symbol of Commitment, 500 Gemstone Jewels as well as in the New Rings: 500+ Designs from Around the World by Nicolas Estrada.
Claudio is one of those designers that creates things that make you look again and again, his ability to transform raw materials into innovative jewelled works of art makes us true fans of his work.
