Luxurious Magazine attended the recent EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, represented by our award winning Italian photographer and motorcycle fan, Simone Zeffiro.
The EICMA show (the 71st edition) is the most important motorcycles and scooter fair in Europe and offered up some amazing products and exciting new developments.
Over 1000 manufacturers from 35 countries, unveiled amazing innovations including incredible bikes that we will be seeing on the roads in 2014. Not just content to showcase stunning mechanical marvels, the brands and organisers further stimulated the interest of visitors, by hosting a number of interesting events during the week via specialist areas and, for the first time, an official ambassador to the show.
The ambassador was none other than Steven Tyler, front man to the world famous rock band Aerosmith. Tyler, flew in via private jet to open the 2013 exhibition and to support and promote the USA Based brand Dirico Motorcycles who were making their debut in the European market. The singer opened the Italian fair from the Virgin Radio stage located in the Customized Bike area inside the Hall 2, this area proved to be a big hit for all the attendees.
Among all the new entries presented at EICMA 2013, the most popular, it seemed, were the superbikes, notably the new Ducati 1199 Superleggera with its 1198 cc engine and a dry weight of Kg. 155 (341.7lb), the Ducati Monster 1200 and 1200s (powered by the formidable Super-bike derived 1198 Testastretta 11° DS engine) in Ducati red with matching frame and glossy black wheels. The Harley Davidson stand also garnered huge attention, particularly, the new Fat Bob with new slim and sporty ergonomic seat, in two new colours (Amber Whiskey and Sand Cammo Denim) and new diagonal-stripe fuel tank graphics.
Kawasaki thrilled visitors with the Z1000 and Z1000 ABS with a 1,043 cm3 liquid-cooled (4-stroke in-line four) powerful engine that pulls strongly from all speeds, and a more direct response thanks to new engine settings and shorter gearing that added to the Z1000 sporty street riding potential.
Simone took time to discover the mechanical goodies at the dedicated Italian exhibition discovering all the latest innovations coming out from some of the worlds most renowned superbike motorcycles brands.
