The Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok is inviting guests and local residents to celebrate the holiday season in style this year with a series of tempting culinary offers, including a special afternoon tea and plenty of sweets and treats.
From 29th November to 25th December 2021, the resort’s hospitality experts will present a range of festive-themed offerings that reflect the Mövenpick brand’s rich heritage. Led by Swiss General Manager Bruno Huber and Austrian Executive Chef Christoph Trocker, guests will be able to experience the finest flavours from Europe’s beautiful land of lakes and mountains.
At Rim Klong Café, the elegant eatery that overlooks Bangkok’s Saen Saeb Canal, the “Swiss-mas High Tea” will showcase a collection of classical “Christmas Sweets”. On the menu will be Spitzbuben (jam cookies), Chrabeli (Swiss aniseed cookies), mailänderli (butter cookies), Zimtsterne (cinnamon star cookies), Mandelgützeli (almond cookies), Brünsli (Swiss chocolate & almond cookies), Kokosmakronen (coconut macaroons) and vanilla Kipferl (vanilla cookies). These goodies will be served alongside homemade Christmas tree cupcakes and Swiss grittibänzli (baked bread figures) with Mövenpick jam and butter.
On the savoury side, guests can tuck into a sumptuous Christmas turkey sandwich or vegan alternative, along with smoked salmon tartare, wild forest mushroom pâté, and gluten-free “flowerpot bread”. Perfect for best friends, moms and daughters, or anyone who wants to reconnect with a loved one after a long year, this vibrant afternoon tea is available daily from 14.00-17.00 hrs, priced at THB 999++ for two persons, including premium tea or coffee. Advanced reservations are required, and Accor Plus members will enjoy a 20% discount.
Many of these Swiss bites and delights will also be available to purchase from the Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok’s Rim Klong Café throughout the holidays. Guests can pick up any of the eight Swiss Christmas Sweets to eat in (THB 30++ each) or opt for a takeaway (starting from THB 380++ per set). In addition to this, there will be many other festive favourites such as freshly-baked grittibänz, Christstollen (traditional fruit bread) and yule log cake. Prices start from THB 120++ per item.
For guests who want to sit back, take a break from their Christmas shopping and tuck into a fulfilling daytime snack, the Christmas turkey sandwich is expected to be a best-seller! Turkey ham, streaky bacon, spinach and cream cheese are accompanied by horseradish sauce, caramelised onion, sage and cranberry, served on freshly-baked bread, while the vegan alternative showcases roasted & smoked sweet potato, organic carrots and mushroom pâté as the star ingredients.
The holidays wouldn’t be complete without festive drinks! Feel the holiday spirit with a warm and comforting Santa Choco hot chocolate with marshmallows (THB 150++), or refresh your tastebuds with a Merry Berry Virgin Mojito featuring strawberry purée, sugar syrup and lime, topped with soda (THB 250++).
“This festive season, we’re inviting our guests to the rolling mountains and idyllic villages of the Alps – the home of Mövenpick. International travel has been challenging again this year, so we’ve created a series of delicious dishes that transport the senses far away and evoke the spirit of Switzerland. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together with loved ones and rediscover the timeless joys of family and friendship,” said Bruno Huber, General Manager, Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok.
Set within 1.2 acres of lush gardens, with rippling waterfalls and century-old trees, Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok is a serene setting to spend the festive season. The resort’s innovative approach to dining, which focuses on healthy and wholesome menus, forms part of a holistic wellness concept that also incorporates personal fitness, mindfulness and professional medical services at the adjacent BDMS Wellness Clinic.
