Danish bakers Ole & Steen have launched a new cherry cheesecake, paying homage to the much-loved seasonal fruit. The cake is made with a biscuit base, whipped cream, and cherry gel, topped with a fresh cherry.
Typically in season over the summer months in the UK, cherries are bursting with sweet, tart, and juicy flavours. They are great for pairing with a crunchy biscuit base and cream. To add a cherry on top, Ole & Steen bakers set out to source cherries that have been grown in the UK, wherever possible.
Ole & Steen, ‘the home of the social’ in the UK with their freshly baked Cinnamon Social, is known for always looking for new and innovative items to refresh the menu.
They are committed to championing seasonal flavours, and switching up their cheesecake gives them an ideal opportunity to bring these to their loyal customers.
The Cherry Cheesecake is available for a limited time, throughout August only.
An Ole & Steen spokesperson said, “Ole & Steen like to share hygge – a Danish word for relax and enjoy the good things in life – and the launch of the new Cherry Cheesecake is the perfect way to sit back and share some summer-infused hygge! Our expert bakers have created the cheesecake as a special seasonal treat, which is a special edition and will not be around for long, so try one while you can!”
Founded in Denmark in 1991, they are well placed to bake the Danish Social, a sweet and soft plaited dough filled with vanilla custard and cinnamon paste and topped with icing.
Last month, Ole & Steen launched a new Maple and Pecan Social with maple syrup. It has proved so popular that it will stay on the menu until the autumn.
Ole & Steen is the product of two authentic Danish bakers, Ole & Steen, who are joining forces and bakeries to become a better bakery for all.
