For a gym newcomer, which ONE LDN classes would you recommend?
We’ve designed all of our classes to cater for all abilities. That’s why the classes are taught by the most experienced coaches in the industry so a member of any ability level is able to participate and progress. From then, it comes down to specific personal needs. I am a big advocate of strength training, so for ladies, I would start with Booty HIIT and WOD (workout of the day). However, we mix our barre workouts with HIIT training so it’s also a good place to start. For guys, I would recommend WODs. Boxing and Muay Thai are a really fun cardio blitz.
And how about for those who’re a bit more experienced?
If you know your way around a gym but need a bit more inspiration, weightlifting is a super engaging and fun class.
Tell us about your fitness regime – how do you like to keep fit?
To be honest, I love to mix and match, so I do everything. I get really bored of doing the same thing and lose focus. That’s one of the reasons why we created a large offering of the most popular classes at this point in time. I find it hard to train by myself so I always go to classes. I train 6 times a week with a mix of cardio and strength training, but I always make sure I sweat!
What does being ‘fit’ mean to you?
To me, being ‘fit’ means feeling good, positive and happy. If you feel good, everything is possible! A really sweaty exercise session is a good way to make you smile, for sure!
What training principles do you live your life by?
I try to listen to my body. I am not always good at it though! If I am going through stressful moments, I try not to overload my body with too much high-intensity training and opts for lighter workouts, but when I feel good and strong, I push my body to the limit. It’s important to give your body breaks and reset. I have learnt that the hard way but it works wonders.
Do you have any luxury fitness gadgets you can’t live without?
I am not big fan of tracking devices. For me, the most important is how I feel about myself and not what the device says. My most luxury fitness items are probably my workout clothes. I spend a lot of time in the gym so nice gym clothes that make me feel good are a big plus. I have a wardrobe full of them.
