H. Moser & Cie are bringing a further dimension to watchmaking with their Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton. The intricate timepiece boasts the addition of Three-Dimensional power, signifying a new approach by the Schaffhausen-based watch company.

A beautiful sapphire crystal dome covers the sub-dial featuring Globolight® inserts, and the one-minute flying tourbillon boasts an eye-catching cylindrical hairspring. The Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon is a piece of art to wear and enjoy daily.

H. Moser & Cie inspires contrast, so the company consciously selected the Pioneer case with a contemporary and adventurous look and feel. The design showcases the HMC 811 three-dimensional Manufacture calibre, designed to be an actual work of art.

It is a large, fully skeletonised movement with a 34 mm diameter allowing the complete experience of viewing the “balletic dance” of the one-minute flying tourbillon, equipped with a cylindrical hairspring at 6 o’clock.

The cylindrical hairspring rises perpendicularly around the balance spindle’s upper stem, a feature of Marine Chronometers of the past. The hairspring is fitted with two Breguet curves to reduce friction on the pivots and improve movement. the cylindrical hairspring requires ultimate skill and experience to manufacture because it requires precise know-how and tools.

The teams at Precision Engineering AG, H. Moser & Cie’s sister company, had to remaster this expertise, as each cylindrical hairspring is shaped by hand, taking ten times longer to produce than a traditional hairspring.

Funky Blume fumé is a colour synonymous with H.Moser & Cie, and it appears on the domed sub-dial at the 12 o’clock position. Globolight® coats the indices, which are bold and also contain Super-LumiNova®, so a more stunning three-dimensional appearance is seen. The Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon uses the HMC 811 Calibre Skeleton on the front and reverse sides, exposing a significant gold, fully open rotor that oscillates.

The beauty of this movement is enhanced further by the lightness of the flying tourbillon, which twirls gracefully under the sapphire crystal.

H. Moser & Cie enters the Skeleton watch market with the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton, so it defines their standards in this field of watch manufacturing.

Featuring a black Alligator leather strap, the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton comes with additional straps for versatile wear. You can choose from Kudu leather, rubber, textile or steel. The timepiece is 15.3 mm thick and sits well on the wrist, enabling it to be worn for sports, formally and as an everyday watch even when you go swimming as it is resistant to 12 Atmospheres.

The diameter is small compared to the current trend of larger watches coming in at only 34mm, but you get a gorgeous timepiece. It is self-winding with a power reserve of 74 hours. On the steel clasp, the Moser M logo sits proudly.

The retail price of the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton is CHF 79,000. To find out more about the watch and the other timepieces by H. Moser & Cie, please visit www.h-moser.com.
