Kevin Thompson, the former CMO of Grace de Monaco and Sotheby’s International Realty, will lead the charge in establishing the New York office, bringing Poppins’ bespoke approach to the US market.
Poppins, the London-headquartered agency operating at the intersection of technology and creativity, has appointed Kevin Thompson as US Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer to lead the agency in the US and establish its presence in New York.
For the last two decades, Kevin has spearheaded the brand and storytelling revival of some of the world’s leading brands in luxury and fashion.
Most recently, Kevin was the CMO for the Princess Grace Foundation at Grace de Monaco, where he created and launched the brand – the world’s first luxury brand designed to benefit others.
He has also previously held executive leadership roles at Sotheby’s International Realty, Barneys New York, Simon Property Group, Moncler and Gucci.
Kevin will build on Poppins’ mission of crafting bespoke brand experiences with unique storytelling for the US market, as well as enhance its philosophy of doing good while partnering with major global brands.
With a focus on the luxury sector, the Poppins US office already has a growing client roster of well-known brands, including Montage International and Veronique Gabai, as well as upcoming new brand launches in the fine jewellery and real estate categories.
Kevin Thompson, US Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer at Poppins, said, “I am honoured and genuinely excited to join Poppins, leading the charge in establishing our first North American office.
“My focus will be on creating a unique blend of innovation, creativity, and purpose as we aim to set new standards for how brands engage with the modern customer. Over the last 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most iconic brands, transforming how they tell their stories to the world.
“Joining Poppins allows me to bring all that experience and multiply it by working with a stable of some of the most exciting brands in the region.
“It’s rare to find a team that so passionately seeks out ways to do things differently and, alongside Maani and Gabby and the team at Poppins, I am thrilled to be a part of that.”
Maani Safa, CEO and Founder of Poppins added, “We are overjoyed to welcome Kevin to the Poppins family as the leader of our new office and team in New York. Kevin’s expertise in revitalising global luxury and fashion brands is next to none, and his commitment to philanthropy and making a positive difference in the world aligns perfectly with our vision at Poppins.
The expansion to New York marks a significant milestone for us, and Kevin’s leadership will play a pivotal role in shaping our presence in this exciting market. I can’t wait to see our unique approach being delivered to clients across North America and to create work that is truly going to turn heads.”
