There’s a new addition to the Princess Yachts’ sophisticated Y Class range and it’s the Princess Y72 Flybridge. This four-cabin tech-laden motor yacht offers superb performance coupled with a high level of luxury, innovative design and space.

The Princess Y72 Flybridge is a four-cabin motor yacht designed in collaboration with the Italian design house Pininfarina and naval architects Olesinki. The Princess Y72 continues the same design language and quality seen on the boatbuilders larger yachts and adopts numerous features found on her bigger sister, the Y85.

The design of the Princess Y72
The Princess Y72 features the very latest in Princess exterior design and interior finishes. She comes with full-length hull windows, which are one of the features found on the boatbuilders 95ft long Y95.

The Y72 has been designed around outdoor living and has the option of an extended hardtop with an electric opening louvred roof section or glass panel, which provides extra sunlight during a journey.

The Y72’s Flybridge has been designed with entertainment in mind. Its layout is reminiscent of the larger Y-class yachts and benefits from an interchangeable aft sun pad and two seating areas. To help increase the fun factor, the aft sun pad can be replaced with three sunbeds or, if you are so inclined, an optional crane to lift and stow a Williams Sportjet 395 or tender.

The Princess Y72 comes with extended teak as standard with quartz galley worktops and formed solid worktops in all the bathrooms. The flooring options consist of solid surface or optional granite, quartz or marble.

No boat with a bias towards entertainment would be complete without a perfectly-planned dining area. The Y72’s achieves this with aplomb courtesy of a dining area with a handcrafted teak table that is positioned opposite an electric barbecue, a fully equipped wet bar, drawer fridge, and a requisite sink, all of which makes it an ideal place for al-fresco dining.

Further forward from the flybridge is a bow are with U-shaped seating and a sun pad which allows guests to experience the views. There is also an aft-mounted (raise/lower) bathing platform capable of accommodating and deploying a Seadoo Spark, Sportjet 395 or similar.

The spacious main deck saloon is designed for sociable living. The cockpit connects to the main saloon via a sliding patio door opening to starboard, with a hinge up window above the aft galley bar top, seamlessly integrating the two areas and allowing the outside in.

The dining area and the well-equipped open-plan galley includes an island bar with optional stools for informal occasions. Moving forward is a U-shaped seating area with a Princess Design Studio coffee table featuring a smoked grey glass top and a sculpted hardwood base, along with an additional sofa positioned to port.

The dual helm station with Bőning monitoring and controls for all engine instrumentation is complemented by a raised forward L-shaped sofa, creating an excellent lookout spot.

On-board entertainment is courtesy of a 55″ UHD LED TV which rises and lowers electronically, plus a DVD and Blu-ray system complemented with a Naim audio system also fitted in the flybridge and Master Stateroom as standard.

Forward on the lower deck, six guests can enjoy three beautifully appointed guest cabins filled with light from the full-length hull glazing. A dedicated staircase leads from the main deck to the full-beam owner’s stateroom amidships via a private lobby area connected to the saloon.

The sophisticated owner’s stateroom is furnished with a sofa, dressing area, and vanity desk wrapped and stitched in Livorno Stone leather for a contemporary finish.

The owner’s stateroom features luxurious feature panels, fresh linen wallcoverings and a bronze tint mirror to compliment the overall scheme. There is also an additional en-suite cabin with two single beds positioned aft for crew or occasional guests.

The all-new Princess Y72 is fitted with powerful twin MAN V12 engines – either 1400mhp or 1650mhp variants – the latter powering the Y72 up to 34 knots. With gyro or fin stabilisation, Princess’s pioneering deep-V hull design, developed with world-renowned naval architects Olesinski, is the foundation of this unique performance.
