The R Collection will host Festa Della Regina in Varenna, Lake Como, with a Gala Evening on July 31st, celebrating the young Queen Victoria’s visit in 1838.
While not known for her partying, Queen Victoria is nevertheless the inspiration for Festa Della Regina – a journey through time to celebrate Queen Victoria, surrounded by the beauty of the lake.
Shortly after her coronation in 1838, a young Queen Victoria visited Italy, choosing to stay at Hotel Royal Victoria overlooking Lake Como, where she fell in love with the magnificent location. This visit is commemorated each year on July 31st at Hotel Villa Cipressi (a sister property to Hotel Royal Victoria) with Festa Della Regina.
Guests are invited to enjoy a Gala Dinner, live music and entertainment in the magnificent gardens at Hotel Villa Cipressi, feasting on canapes, appetisers, a seated four-course dinner, dessert buffet and spritz bar.
The Festa Della Regina package is available from €750 per room per night (approx £640) and includes Lake view aperitifs, Gala Dinner, overnight accommodation with breakfast, as well as reduced rates for the private Spa Suite and Restaurant Victoria Grill.
Additional nights, from August 1st, are available from €405 per room (approx £346).
