Radisson Collection to Make its Madrid Debut in the Iconic Generali Building

The Radisson Hotel Group has revealed details of its first Radisson Collection property in Madrid. The hotel, set to open in 2027, will be located at the iconic Generali Building on Alcala Street, one of Madrid’s most prominent avenues in the prestigious Canalejas area.

The heritage-protected Generali Building will undergo a transformative redevelopment to become a mixed-use masterpiece. It will combine premium retail spaces on the ground floor with 154 elegant guest rooms and suites spanning ten floors and a fantastic rooftop that provides breathtaking views over the city.

Federico J. González, the Executive Vice Chairman of Radisson Hotel Group, said, “With a spectacular location, the arrival of our lifestyle luxury Radisson Collection brand in Madrid will be a catalyst to accelerate the development of Radisson Hotel Group in Spain, where we currently have eight hotels in operation and now this landmark project under development, as well as some others that we will announce soon.

“We are proud to debut this project alongside Generali, a strategic partner of the Group with whom we have already collaborated in Rome and Venice. This will be an iconic hotel in Madrid and a privileged destination for local and international guests.”

Guests will enjoy a selection of high-end amenities, including a signature restaurant and bar on the first level, LYON Bar, a stunning rooftop bar and restaurant on the 13th floor with sweeping city views, a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness centre and a spa. The ground floor will include various stores, providing an exclusive shopping experience.

The project, developed in collaboration with the prestigious Lamela Architecture studio, promises to become a benchmark of luxury and sophistication in the Spanish capital. The design will honour the building’s historical architecture while offering the bespoke, renowned Radisson Collection modern luxury.

Benedetto Giustiniani, Head of the Southern Europe Region at Generali Real Estate, commented, “The transformation of the iconic Alcalá 21 building into a Radisson Collection hotel represents another important step in our ongoing growth as investors in the European hospitality sector, with an incredible asset that enriches Generali’s hotel property portfolio.

“We are also very pleased to strengthen our cooperation with a top-tier global player like Radisson Hotel Group at the European level, following the successful collaborations on the prestigious Radisson Collection Hotel, Roma Antica in Rome and Radisson Collection Hotel, Palazzo Nani in Venice.
