With COVID-19 making the headlines around the world, virtual reality tech firm Reevo 360 is offering protective hazmat suits for property tours, inspections and photoshoots. Gina Baksa finds out more.
UK tech firm Reevo 360, provider of virtual house tours, CGIs, floorplans and photography for property agents, has come up with a novel way of keeping their staff safe during property visits, by supplying anti-COVID-19 Hazmat suits.
Reevo 360 often visits derelict buildings or construction sites, some of which are highly contaminated, hence the need for the hazmat suits. They enable the Reevo 360 camera and inspection crews, with their bespoke rigs, to visit properties and create virtual tours and photoshoots without the risk of contamination or infection.
The somewhat alarming World War III-style state-of-the-art hazmat suits consist of an impermeable whole-body garment, complete with face-breathing-mask and eyeshield goggles. They provide respiratory protection, as well as guarding against chemicals, biological agents and other toxic substances.
The hazmat suits can also be given to vendors and clients to protect all parties visiting a property. In the age of COVID-19, demand for virtual tours to market properties has exploded. Daniel Freeman, Sales Director of Reevo 360, said: “Pre-lockdown demand for Reevo 360 virtual tours rose 20 to 30%. Since then, our enquiries have topped 400%.”
Each virtual viewing costs £95, while hazmat suit-equipped tours are charged separately and at a premium due to the strenuous nature of working in heavy hazmat suits, as well as the need for a team pre- and post-visit for decontamination checks.
Reevo 360 began its virtual property tours business in 2018 using a bespoke design camera rig created from one and a half years of research and development. They can visit any type of property to create state-of-the-art 360-degree virtual reality interior and exterior views of homes for sale, alongside RICS floorplans and still photographs.
The company collaborates across the industry with estate agents, housebuilders, residential and mixed-use developers, commercial agents, retailers, hotel operators and private schools. Clients include Galliard Homes, Beauchamp Estates, Weston Homes and Roman.
Potential buyers are sent a digital link for the property they are interested in viewing, along with a unique access code which connects the buyer’s screen to that of the sales agent.
This enables the sales agent to speak to and interact with the buyer and take them on a professionally guided virtual viewing of the home for sale. The salesperson describes the features and benefits of the property, as well as answering any queries.
To access the virtual viewing, the buyer can use any mobile or PC device, including a smartphone, tablet, laptop or traditional PC, to connect with the sales agent from anywhere in the world. The virtual viewing is encrypted and secure and is unique to the buyer and sales agent.
In addition, should partners, relatives, investment advisers or lawyers wish to join the virtual viewing, this can easily be arranged with up to 50 people connecting screens with the sales agent so they can join the virtual viewing.
