King of boutique gyms, 1Rebel, has just opened its sixth studio in Angel, focusing entirely on their gruelling 45-minute Reshape class.

If you’ve not heard of them, 1Rebel gyms are the place to be seen breaking a sweat.

They offer pay-as-you-go classes designed around a type of training called ‘HIIT’, meaning High Intensity Interval Training.

Loved by London’s celebs and socialites, 1Rebel boasts some of the capital’s most challenging workouts designed to push you to your limits in less than an hour.

Like all their studios, their latest opening in Angel has a members’ club feel. There are spa-like changing rooms and no end of little luxuries like refrigerated sweat towels, GHD hairdryers and straighteners, and free prosecco on Fridays.

Looks-wise, the Angel club is different from the others with a post-apocalyptic theme. There’s hanging plants, dark studios and raw, industrial-style furnishings.

It’s all about 1Rebel’s Reshape class at Angel. It’s a 45-minute session that combines sprints and incline intervals on cutting-edge treadmills, as well as floor-based movements using weights. There are three levels to choose from, so you can decide how hard you go. But be warned, even the lowest level will challenge you.

Don’t expect to be able to coast at the back of the class either – you’ll be encouraged to push through the pain by the elite instructors. When you run out of steam the DJ curated playlist will carry you through.

Angel calls the Reshape class their “most gruelling workout” that’ll “push you to exertion that you never thought was possible”.

Gruelling it is.

The reward? Endorphin overload and a buzzy post-workout feeling like no other. Those who work hardest can expect to burn a whopping 1,000 calories.
