International football star and captain of the Polish national football team Robert Lewandowski has returned to his home city of Warsaw to purchase an apartment at luxury residential tower Zlota 44
Zlota 44 was designed by Polish-American architect Daniel Libeskind. The standard apartments in the 192 metre tower range from, 1.4 million PLN (£242,000) to 11 million PLN (£1.9 million), with the luxury apartments available for offers in excess of 39 million PLN (£7 million).
The recent Bundesliga and Deutsche Pokal (German Cup) winner is currently representing Poland at EURO 2016, but took the time to discuss his new purchase: ‘Choosing my new apartment at Zlota 44 was based on practical considerations. The tower provides some of the best residences in Poland, whilst the sports and recreation centre allows me to complete my training program in the highest quality surroundings.
‘It is important in my profession to always have world-class training facilities on-hand and now I’m just a short elevator ride from a full-size swimming pool, fully-equipped gym, luxury spa area, as well as treatment and massage rooms. This was essential for me as it allows me at any given moment to complete my training program in the best surroundings.’
The four-time Bundesliga, two-time German Cup and current record holder for most goals scored in a single UEFA European Championship Qualifying campaign (13 goals) will utilise his apartment and its world-class facilities during international matches, with the Polish National Stadium just a short drive from the tower. Lewandowski is currently splitting his time between Munich ad Warsaw, he is the son of a Polish Judo Champion and is married to Polish Karate Bronze Medallist Anna Stachurska.
Michal Skotnicki, President of BBI Development S.A, the developer behind Zlota 44, commented: ‘This year has gone from strength-to-strength for Zlota 44. Recently being named ‘Europe’s Best Residential Tower’ at the International Property Awards was a big achievement and now attracting someone of Robert’s standing to the tower shows just how special this project is. We set out to provide a building that would make the whole of Poland proud and now we have one of the country’s best exports on our team.’
Rafal Szczepanski, Vice President of BBI Development S.A., added: ‘With his talent, determination, and achievements, Robert Lewandowski not only makes our country famous in throughout the world but also builds the image of a modern Pole and present-day Poland. Such an attitude and behaviour resonates particularly strongly with what we’re trying to achieve at Zlota 44.’
One of the key features of Zlota 44 is its impact at ground level, with residents and guests greeted by a spectacular reception area, with a dedicated 24-hour concierge desk. Designed by Daniel Libeskind, the room boasts six-metre-high ceilings, luxurious furniture and full-length window panes which fill the space with natural light. Also accessible from street level is the spacious parking facility, which provides spaces suitable for luxury cars.
The eighth floor is the setting for the sports and recreation centre, as well as high-end entertainment facilities, including private cinema, golf simulator, children’s’ play area and business conference rooms. Located on the ground floor is a large wine cellar, which has the capacity for up to 10,000 bottles, complete with a tasting room.
Designed by Woods Bagot, all apartments within Zlota 44 have spacious living areas, with floor-to-ceiling glazing throughout. The open-plan kitchen and breakfast rooms are custom-fitted and complete with Gaggenau kitchen appliances. With nine fit-out options available, purchasers can choose from exposed polished concrete ceiling and column features, Caesarstone kitchen worktops and oak or American-walnut flooring. Each apartment is equipped with mobile-controlled home technology systems.
Having the final say, Lewandowski added: ‘True gems in real estate are rare, this is why I try to choose homes that are unique. Thanks to its iconic architecture and superb interiors, Zlota 44 is simply an attractive investment and the only residential development in Poland to have a global presence, so I’m delighted to be one of the residents here.’
