The Ampersand Hotel is inviting loved ones to The Drawing Rooms for an enchanting journey of romantic exploration with the Science of Love Afternoon Tea.
A lovingly updated variation on the classic Science Afternoon Tea, the offering is inspired by the hotel’s neighbouring Science Museum and boasts a star menu of sweet and savoury dishes.
Guests will delight in a delicious menu of romantically themed treats including warm plain and white chocolate heart-shaped scones, served with Devonshire clotted cream and homemade strawberry preserve.
Savouries will include goats cheese, pumpkin and sage quiche; roast beef bagels with horseradish, watercress and cornichons; crayfish with asparagus and Mary Rose sauce on toasted focaccia and smoked salmon and avocado blinis.
Those with a passion for pastry should look no further than the Science of Love’s sweet selection. Lychee, raspberry and rose marshmallow is complemented by pink guava and apple Opera cake followed by flower-shaped peach and strawberry mousse, Valentine’s shortbread and a special ‘Love Exilir’ mocktail.
Finally, guests will be invited to discover miniature Cupid chocolates hidden within a fossil box of white chocolate ‘soil’, a honey toffee squeeze tube and freeze dried raspberry and chocolate biscuit crunch ball.
