The Shangri-La Rasa Ria resort in Malaysian Borneo has announced its new sustainable Sarimpak Robe initiative, which has been inspired by the Sarimpak ornament worn by the Bajau Samah people of Sabah.

The sustainable 5-star resort, Shangri-La Rasa Ria, which is located in beautiful Sabah, Malaysian Borneo, has announced its new Sarimpak Robe initiative, which not only aligns with its sustainability vision but also seeks to create a positive influence on the local Tuaran community.

Available for both adults and children staying in the Ocean Wing, the robes are the result of a collaboration with Changgih Designs and 15 talented artisan mothers from Tuaran.

The Sarimpak Robes draw inspiration from the iconic Sarimpak ornament worn by the Bajau Samah people of Sabah during ceremonies. The design reflects the cultural heritage and incredible craftsmanship of the local artisans. Intricate patterns and motifs on the robes are handcrafted using traditional techniques, showcasing the skill and talent of these designers.

Through this initiative, Shangri-La Rasa Ria supports the local community by providing sustainable income opportunities and preserving cultural heritage. By purchasing these unique robes, guests contribute to uplifting the Tuaran community and promoting fair trade practices.
