The Silverlining Furniture team of engineers, designers, scientists and craftspeople has worked tirelessly over the past two years on an outstanding collection of nine pieces designed for Superyacht H as part of its extensive rebuild.
For two years, Silverlining, the renowned British furniture design company, has been working with Reymond Langton Design, the interior and exterior designers on the project, the A Group, who provided project management, and Oceanco, who was responsible for the yacht rebuild.
More than 19,000 hours were spent by Silverlining’s seventy-strong team on the design, engineering and making of the pieces. This one-of-a-kind commission sets the bar for contemporary design excellence when it comes to superyacht interiors.
Each piece benefited from Silverlining’s experience in creating custom yacht furniture over 35 years and its approach that combines craftsmanship with innovative materials and finishes.
The furniture pieces were made at the Silverlining HQ and workshop in Wrexham, Wales, and installed onboard in person by Silverlining’s specialist team.
Welcome Lounge Bar
The first piece welcoming guests aboard H is the Welcome Lounge Bar, with its robust, dynamic body crowned with an organic top.
The bar features 3D-textured sides in a bronze metallised resin. The textured surfaces are handcrafted to promote definition in the precise ridges and valleys. The centre front panel of the piece is crafted in pitted satin bronze metallised resin.
The standout element of the bar is its sculptural amber-coloured bar top, which was designed to seamlessly integrate into the bar structure – the Silverlining team engineered custom hardware to hinge compound curved doors to fully utilise the space within the bar. The serving bar top is cast in amber-hued acrylic, which was then sculpted by CNC. Its organic shapes drop into an alabaster top, backlit by an LED light panel.
Main Saloon Cabinet
Within the main saloon stands a state-of-the-art, marble-topped cabinet. It catches the eye with the rich patterned surface of its curved doors, which saw a complex technique applied to create the lattice pattern over a ripple sycamore veneer.
The top of the cabinet is crafted in Crema Delicato marble, with elegant detailing in brushed bronzed brass. The detail was achieved thanks to the utmost patience and attention to detail of Silverlining’s craftspeople, who meticulously hand-brushed the brass inlay surfaces.
Dining Table
The dining table is 4,000 mm in length, providing formal entertaining seating for 14 guests. The oval top features a slip-matched starburst veneer pattern in custom-dyed, taupe-coloured ripple sycamore. The central oval Calacatta Borghini marble with softened edges sits just proud of the table’s surface.
The thin profile of the tabletop is juxtaposed with the low tapered oval form of the base featuring hand-finished textured metallised bronze resin.
Welcome Lounge Coffee Table
The organic form of the welcome lounge bar is juxtaposed with the clean, rectangular form of the Welcome Lounge Coffee Table. The table features a Caspian resin finish with bronzed brass inlays, with the drawer boxes in custom-dyed pale taupe ripple sycamore and the drawer linings in Alcantara.
The collection of bespoke pieces created for Superyacht H is a prime example of Silverlining’s mastery in design for the superyacht sector, expertly combining complex design and engineering ideas with expressive forms and modern craftsmanship.
The Silverlining team will be launching new designs at the Monaco Yacht Show this September.
