We take a close look at two timepieces from the German marque’s Prestige range.
Braun BN10 digital watch
The outstanding design concept of the Braun Prestige digital watch received four iF and four Red dot product design awards from the jury of leading international design experts in 2012. The state of the art technology is reflected in its cutting edge design, encapsulating Braun’s core values of functionality, quality and aesthetics.
This Braun Prestige digital watch measures 41.8mm x 36.7mm with a 10.1mm thick steel case, and is available in stainless steel or black plated stainless steel. Both versions come with a choice of a stainless steel bracelet or rubber strap. This Braun digital watch, which is patented with an EasySkroll v2.0 operating system, is water resistant to 30 metres. The lens is scratch resistant K1 hardened glass.
Braun BN0095 analogue watch
The case of this Braun analogue watch is carved of one single block of steel. This one-piece’ construction eliminates the need for a case-back and in turn removes the element of potential leakage. The Swiss movement is mounted into the case from the top before being covered and sealed by the sapphire crystal. This allowed the Braun designers to taper the bottom part of the watch more elegantly and attach the band lugs in such a way that would not be possible with conventional watch construction. Implementing new technical solutions for the benefit of functionality has always been an important part of the Braun design tradition. The result is not only striking in appearance but moreover the elimination of a case back gives the watch an added structural advantage as there is a better protection against water.
