Skin Academy has been announced as a finalist in the coveted Pure Beauty Global Awards 2019.
The Manchester-based firm’s latest product range, INK’D, a specialist skincare product developed for tattooed skin, has been named as a finalist in the ‘Best Special Innovation’ category.
Richard Jorden, managing director said: “Skin Academy only entered the beauty industry just over 12 months ago, with INK’D only being launched in November 2018, so to be recognised for one of our latest product launches already is a truly magnificent achievement.
“The whole Skin Academy team have worked tirelessly in creating NPD that we know will excel in the industry, and we are delighted that INK’D has really taken on the tattoo market with such great force to the point we have reached the finals of such a globally recognised awards.
“We feel we found a gap in the market with this product that really appeals to customers searching for specialised skincare for their tattoos with a high-quality formulation, at affordable prices; and are honoured to share our finalist’s position with such esteemed and already established worldwide high street names.”
INK’D will now be put to the test by an international judging panel who will then vote on who will be crowned winners of the best new global products of the year 2019. The winners will be announced on 16th April at the Four Seasons Resort in Dubai.
Richard added: “INK’D was developed in recognition of the growing tattoo industry amidst reports stating that around a fifth* of Britons in the UK have tattoos and with that in mind, it felt like a natural extension to the Skin Academy range to create a product that could penetrate into this clearly very active market.
“Having secured early listing within the UK and Europe we have bold ambitions to increase the rate of export into even more countries. Having a finalist badge of honour will certainly help us in that journey and who knows, it could even be a winners badge!”
