East London’s lawn party-esque rooftop bar is back for summer with all-new day beds and garden booths for soaking up the sun in style.
Skylight Rooftop at Tobacco Dock has returned for another sizzling summer season. So if you’re looking for a place to celebrate the long-awaited arrival of the sun, this lesser-known east London hangout is the perfect spot.
Famous for its panoramic views of the city and quirky urban lawn games, this year, it’s been spruced up Ibiza-style, with luxurious day beds and private garden booths, as well as a jam-packed events calendar for a summer of F-U-N.
East London has plenty of rooftop bars but Skylight has the edge, with astroturf greenery, a colourful pergola, picnic tables aplenty, live DJs and several big screens showing live sport like Wimbledon and the Rugby World Cup.
A series of urban lawn games split across Skylight’s three levels are the main attraction though, with croquet lawns, table tennis, a French game called ‘pétanque’.
At Skylight’s highest point are the all-new day beds and private booths, decked out with tropical plants and greenery. A smart idea for big groups of friends and birthday celebrations, you can book a bed or booth from £70 for up to 10 people and that includes a drink and table service.
Luxury tastes are catered to at the bars, with sublime cocktails, bubbles, and craft cider and beer. Plus, there’s tasty street food on offer from YIRO and Flipside, both serving up flavoursome eat-with-your-hands-style food for all tastes and diets.
For fun and games, top-notch cocktails, gourmet street food and one of the best sunset viewpoints in London, get yourself down to Skylight Rooftop.
