With 2023 set to be a historic year thanks to the King’s Coronation, Spode, maker of exquisite tableware and drinkware, is helping to mark the momentous occasion in style with the launch of its new King Charles III Coronation collection.
Spode has been rewriting the ceramics rulebook since 1770. The company was founded by Josiah Spode I (1733-1797) in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent, and his son, Josiah II, is the person credited with discovering the formula for the new English porcelain, bone china.
For 250 years, Spode has created the finest tableware and drinkware, denoted by its iconic blue and white designs (known as blue under-glaze printing).
The King Charles III Coronation collection continues Spode’s long tradition of developing homewares to mark royal moments; the special commemorative range is beautifully illustrated with design details synonymous with the monarch in Spode’s iconic cobalt blue.
The collection provides the opportunity to celebrate in true style; the leaves and scrolls have been taken from the company’s archive patterns, which intertwine with roses, shamrocks, thistles, and daffodils to represent the four countries of the United Kingdom.
Lisa Archambault, Global Design Director at Spode, said, “We have a long history of creating beautiful and distinctive collections to mark royal occasions, so we’re proud to be able to continue this tradition and commemorate a truly special moment with the new collection.
“Perfect for collectors and for those who simply want to use and enjoy the range as part of their celebrations, as well as offering the opportunity to pass down an heirloom for generations to come, the collection is a wonderful addition to any home.”
Made in Stoke-on-Trent, the collection includes a beautiful 9” commemorative plate, a covetable souvenir mug, a teapot, covered sugar, a cream jug, a teabag tidy, as well as a coaster; the range will help to make your next tea party a truly special one.
The new products in the King Charles III Coronation collection are available online at www.spode.co.uk from February 2023 with RRPs starting from £10.
