This year, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) is celebrating 45 years of its Pullman services and has recently announced the Spring Moorlander service for visitors to dine in style and enjoy a delicious seasonal three-course meal, cooked and served onboard the Pullman Dining Train.
The return services depart from Grosmont Station at 12:30 pm and travel along 18 miles of the heritage line to Pickering and back, with the experience lasting approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes.
Diners can expect a selection of artisan bread and butter at the table and then three courses pre-booked from the seasonal menu. Starters include spring vegetable soup, goat’s cheese, pear & walnut tart, or chef’s homemade chicken liver pâté.
The main course choices are roast loin of Yorkshire pork, Yorkshire seafood chowder, or pearl barley risotto. To finish, passengers can choose from a trio of desserts or a selection of cheese and biscuits, followed by tea or coffee and handmade speciality chocolates.
Kathryn Watson, Catering Manager at the NYMR, said, “When it comes to choosing Pullman menus, we like to keep them fresh using quality, local, seasonal products where possible; we have a lot of repeat guests, so we currently offer spring, summer and autumn menus, afternoon tea and some special menus – this year we are celebrating Yorkshire Day & the 45th anniversary of the Pullman Dining train too.”
The Spring Moorlander is available for booking on 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25 & 26 May, and costs £95 per person. There are four-person private coupes available for £399 and a four-person private coupe with drinks package for £415.
