Bremont is an award winning British watchmaker nestled in the picturesque location of Henley on Thames, England. Brothers Nick and Giles English originally founded the company in 2002.
Their inspiration was a shared passion for engineering and aviation. After five years of research and development they finally released their first range of timepieces in 2007.
I have been a huge admirer of Bremont for years and am delighted with the results of the wonderful new U-2 Blue. In line with all their other models the watch has a modest diameter of 43mm excluding pushers and crown. These classical proportions will definitely appeal to numerous prospective buyers. I also feel that a timepiece of this size and quality would be comfortable to wear on a daily basis. Essentially this is down to the sophisticated and intuitive design of the sculpted steel case. Realistically this timepiece could be donned on any occasion. I feel this watch would make a really bold statement if worn with jeans and a tee-shirt.
The U-2 Blue is the latest in their successful range of watches and my personal favourite. Other models include hardened steel and DLC (diamond like carbon) versions that I believe have been very popular with buyers. Visually the stunning blue metal dial works in perfect contrast with large numerals, indexes and hands. Essentially the layout is simple and as a consequence very effective. I love the stylish date and day window positioned at three o’clock. Overall the attention to detail and finishing on this exquisite timepiece is supreme.
Beneath the refined exterior lays a highly accomplished 25-jewel anti- shock movement that has been modified and hand assembled in house. The Calibre BE-36AE is a self-winding C.O.S.C certified chronometer, which oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The mechanism and decorated skeletonized rotor is visible through the sapphire case back. Bremont have rigorously tested the watch in its laboratories and on various missions to ensure optimum performance. The U-2 Blue features hours, minutes, seconds, day/date, and a power reserve of 38 hours. It is also Water resistant to 10 ATM, 100 metres.
The delightful Bremont U-2 Blue is presented with a calf-skin leather strap and NATO military nylon strap.
