The dynamic Sassoun Simakes & Antonio Terranova formed pioneering brand CVSTOS in 2005.
The name is derived from the Latin word “Guardian”. Primarily the concept of the company is to fuse cutting edge designs with traditional watchmaking. The result is a range of exclusive & highly original timepieces. Fundamentally the Sea-Liner showcases these qualities without reservation.
Needless to say that CVSTOS manufacture large watches that make a bold statement. The Sea-Liner measures a formidable 53.70mm x 41mm x 13.35 mm that clearly won’t appeal to everyone’s tastes. I personally feel these larger dimensions are integral to the success of the innovative design. This superb timepiece certainly doesn’t compromise on any level.
Like most watches in the CVSTOS range the attention to detail is exemplary. The perfectly formed Tonneau-shaped case exhibits the painstaking amount of detail on the sublime watch face. I love the cool skeleton dial contrasting with the Teak wood base. The exposed date wheel accented in blue is marvelous & compliments the highly polished chrome hands. Another really stunning feature is the date magnifying window positioned at 6 O’clock. The entire mechanical splendor is also visible through the Sapphire Crystal case back. Ultimately every element of the design has been well conceived & executed.
The Sea-Liner is available in a choice of three materials, Steel, Blue Steel & 5N Red Gold. All these different models display equal merits & come with brushed satin-finished cases. As well as looking fantastic the watch is also equipped with an impressive engine. The Calibre CVS350 is a 21 Jewel self winding movement oscillating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Functionally the timepiece features hours, minutes, seconds & date delivering a 42-hour power reserve.
