The Constant Escapement marks the first model in the new Haute Horlogerie collection by Swiss watchmaker Girard- Perregaux.
This sensational piece is a culmination of five years research & development. Fundamentally the mechanical movement employs ground-breaking technology to achieve constant energy.
The basic principle of the highly innovative Constant Escapement is to maintain an even energy supply at all times. This is achieved by a radical redesign of the escapement including the integration of a micro thin silicon blade that stores energy. Ultimately this incredible engineering feat improves the accuracy & power reserve of the watch.
Dimensionally this elegant timepiece measures an imposing 48mm. This is certainly befitting of a watch of this stature. The white gold case epitomises the height of finesse with its beautiful rich tones. I love the façade of the watch showcasing all the technical brilliance of the movement. This can also be viewed in more detail via the sapphire case back. The sub dial displaying hours & minutes works in conjunction with the open worked dauphine style hands. All in all this is an exclusive watch designed for the discerning.
Girard-Perregaux has equipped the Constant Escapement with an exceptional in house designed movement. This 28 jewel mechanical masterpiece comprises 271 components all hand finished & decorated. The watch also delivers a staggering power reserve of one week. Functionally the watch features hours, minutes, central seconds & linear power reserve indicator.
With limited quantities expected it is anticipated this sublime timepiece would appeal to the serious collector. The Constant Escapement is supplied with a black alligator strap with white gold folding clasp all priced at: $152,900.
