So how’s the surf in the Maldives? Well, Gili Lankanfushi is based in the North Male atoll where you’ll find some of the best breaks around. Beginners can hone their technique in warm, calm waters just a 10-minute boat ride from the resort. While thrill-seekers in search of a more challenging surf can travel a further 10 minutes, where they’ll reach the same famous stretch as the ‘Jails’ surf break.
