Our suite at The Club at Saujana Resort
The Club at Saujana Resort extends to four floors, our Superior Suite was located on the top floor overlooking the water feature and lake. The Superior Suite has a private lobby area, perfect for my golf clubs, this followed on into the large lounge dining room consisting of dining table and chairs, lounge area, recessed LCD TV and audio centre. Back towards the lobby area was a carved floor to ceiling central unit containing the mini bar. This also housed a multitude of complimentary ‘knick knacks’ including cookies, cashew and assorted nuts, chocolates, teas, coffees and a modern coffee machines that takes miniature coffee cartridges, a nice touch but as a ‘traditionalist’ I felt more at home using the kettle.
The bedroom was lovely, just the right size with a large inviting king sized bed expertly adorned with big pillows, sashes and a fluffy feather quilt. A centralised column at the foot of the bed housed another flat mounted LCD TV with satellite TV channels and DVD/Audio system. Twin large cupboards with ample drawers sat either side of the bedroom, complimentary wireless high-speed broadband was immediately picked up and the sliding sound proofed dividers separated the living and bedroom that I should mention also had a full width desk/work area and accessories.
The bathroom was just perfect with a large oval bath inset into a marble surround, piped audio from the TV/Music system and twin free-standing wooden clad vanity basins continuing the modern wooden theme found throughout the suite. On top of this were the Separate WC and stone clad rain shower, quality toiletries an abundance of towels, robes, slippers and even a set of digital scales so you can check your weight after sampling the delicious culinary delights on offer.
It was while laying on the bed watching some nondescript TV program, I noticed a remote control by the bedside, not knowing what it was for, I did the obvious and pressed a button and much to my delight found that a second set of electric blinds came down over the window blocking out any hint of sunlight, marvellous stuff – luxury and gadgets – the perfect combination!
Cocktails and Canapes at The Club at Saujana Resort
Before we knew it, late afternoon cocktails and canapes in the Clubs Lounge came calling so it was with a slight rumbling in the tummy that we made the short journey downstairs. Choosing the same comfy sofa we sat upon earlier we nestled down and was presented a fairly extensive menu of complimentary drinks consisting of fresh juices, a choice of beers and spirits including Wine, Whiskey, Gin, Martini and others.
I decided to start with a large Gin and Tonic which I felt perfectly complemented the surroundings, my wife chose a freshly squeezed fruit juice. The drinks were brought out accompanied by two trays of ornate Canapes, something I always refer to as ‘Food Art’ as they were gorgeous to look at, uniform in size and very ‘Moorish’. The manager’s cocktails are a nice treat for guests to look forward to each afternoon and a perfect warm-up for the evening dinner.
Before we get into detail about the dining, let me explain the layout of the resort so that you can better understand the options you have as a guest of the Club at Saujana Resort. The Saujana Hotel (formerly Hyatt) is the larger of the two properties and takes up two-thirds of the grounds, the Club at Saujana Resort and its private grounds are a completely private self-contained property that can only be accessed by ‘Club Guests’ and not by guests of the Deluxe Saujana Hotel.
This means that ‘Club Guests’ not only get the luxury private facilities within the Club at Saujana Resort but also use of the facilities at the Saujana Hotel.
