The Forbes Travel Guide is probably the most respected star rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants and spas in the world. In their 2020 ratings, the luxurious Brando resort was deservedly rewarded with a five-star rating.
Situated on the stunningly beautiful Tetiaroa atoll 30 miles north of Tahiti, The Brando is French Polynesia’s premier private island resort.
The all-inclusive retreat is comprised of 35 deluxe villas and one private residence, which is the first of four residence-style accommodations to be constructed over the next four years on The Brando’s primary motu of Onetahi.
What stands out the most is The Brando’s commitment to conservation and sustainability and its ability to do so without forgoing the comforts and luxury of a five-star stay. A pioneer in the hospitality industry, The Brando is the first property in French Polynesia to obtain LEED Platinum Certification.
This is the highest U.S. Green Building Council environmental certification for sustainable building design and operations; reduced energy use by 80% as one of the first commercial resorts in the world to use deep Sea Water Air Conditioning; prioritised recycling efforts to account for 72% of the resort’s responsible waste management, in addition to other achievements.
“On behalf of the entire team at The Brando, we’re thrilled and honoured to be recognised with the prestigious Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Hotel award,” says Richard Bailey, chairman & CEO of Pacific Beachcomber.
“The Brando is such a special place, and this notable accolade proves that our ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between luxury tourism and sustainability shine through in our guest experience.”
Forbes Travel Guide is recognised for creating the original concept of Five-Star service, and The Brando is the latest addition to its illustrious annual Star Rating list.
“We have been committed to championing genuine Five-Star service for more than 60 years, and this year’s winners, as always, exemplify the very highest standards in hospitality,” said Filip Boyen, CEO of Forbes Travel Guide.
“It is difficult to earn a Forbes Travel Guide rating, and all our Star-Rated winners have shown how incredibly deserving they are of their accolades by demonstrating sheer dedication in their passion for service. We congratulate them all.”
