Eating and drinking

Mulberry Cottages have teamed up with Dine Indulge (www.dineindulge.co.uk) to offer private chefs in their holiday rentals. Booking a chef is faff-free and chances are, they would have worked at the property before.

Simply choose a menu from the website (there are menus to suit all budgets and tastes), book and pay. Its only takes a few minutes and is a smart option for The Dairy as the nearest restaurants are a taxi ride away.

We enjoyed one of the most luxurious ‘Signature’ menus at just over £40 per head. I was surprised at how little it cost, with the food being restaurant quality.

It’s a great choice if you’ve got kids too, as you can tuck them up and have the restaurant come to you. Our friendly chef Bodgan even took care of the clearing up.

We enjoyed fresh Calamari to start, a succulent aged ribeye for our main course and a perfectly-executed Madagascan Vanilla Brûlée to finish. Imaginative nibbles kept us entertained in between courses, including pistachio and rosewater marshmallows, and a hazelnut popping candy granita.

As well as a private chef, there are lots of other services you can add on to your stay with Mulberry Cottages. These include activities like clay pigeon shooting, transport, surprise gifts, babysitting – even karaoke hire.

Anything else?

Your furry friends are welcome for an additional cost at The Dairy.

It’s best to arrive by car as the local train station is 15 minutes away by car. There’s a large private car park at the property with plenty of space.

During your stay you’ll also get access to a separate laundry barn, should you need it.
