The Abacos region in the Bahamas, the self-proclaimed “sailing capital of the world,” could become home to The Keep Club Retreat, a brand-new private island retreat concept where luxury and community meet.
The Keep Club Retreat, although only at the artists’ impression stage as far as we can tell, will, if completed, be more than just a holiday destination. According to the people behind the concept, it will be a private community where members can escape the boisterous, public world around them. To help to bring this retreat from an idea to a reality, Glenn Cavill Architecture has been appointed as the lead architect, bringing their unique and creative flair to the development.
About the private island retreat concept
At the heart of the island is The Clubhouse (hotel), a spacious sanctuary designed to exemplify opulence and nurture a sense of community. It is tucked away in a picturesque setting, encircled by verdant vegetation, and in front of one of the largest marinas in the region at 30 acres.
From the moment you enter the stately foyer, you are greeted by an ethereal aura that murmurs of peaceful nights and unhurried moments as you gaze straight through to the Atlantic Ocean by following one of the region’s longest Infinity Sea Pools.
Guests can stay in one of the 80 suites, but if they want something more private, they can use one of the 30 private villas. Both the suites and villas will feature a variety of amenities, including spectacular views, ample space for relaxation, and easy access to other areas of the island.
Unique to the Clubhouse and the Abacos region will be ten Atlantic Suites, each of which will have its own berth for guests who are yacht owners.
The Infinity Sea Pool extends from the Clubhouse vestibule into the Atlantic Ocean and is one of the island’s distinguishing features. The tip of the Infinity Sea Pool is transparent, merging it with the Atlantic Ocean.
For those who wish to make this island their residence, there are 42 villas available for purchase. The availability of villas with one to eight bedrooms makes them ideal for individuals, couples, families, and large groups.
Each villa features a fully equipped kitchen, a private toilet, a lounge area, and a private terrace, as well as an electric buggy. Two-bedroom villas begin at $5,450,000.
Throughout the year, members of the private club will have access to more than 70 villas, some on the coast and others inland, that are reserved exclusively for them.
