Lufthansa Group Airlines are celebrating a double win at the 2020 World Travel Awards. SWISS was voted Europe’s Leading Airline in the First Class category, and Brussels Airlines picked up the award for Europe’s Leading Airline Lounge for THE LOFT.
Although the recent announcement of a new lockdown in the UK is causing the travel industry new headaches there are still reasons for members of the industry to celebrate. Two of Europe’s leading travel brands (SWISS and Brussels Airlines) have been officially lauded for their exceptional offerings at the 2020 World Travel Awards.
SWISS can once more officially consider themselves to be ‘Europe’s Leading Airline – First Class 2020’. This is the second time that Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has taken top honours at the Awards.
SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Tamur Goudarzi Pour was delighted with the award adding; “We view it as a confirmation that we are still maintaining our top quality standards even in these challenging times. And we also see it as an incentive to continue to set high benchmarks within our industry in the months and years ahead.”
The voting for the award was via a worldwide poll of air travellers and travel sector specialists and focused on comfort, service quality and the overall travel experience in all seating classes.
In addition to SWISS’s award, THE LOFT by Brussels Airlines and Lexus at Brussels Airport was named named “Europe’s Leading Airline Lounge” for second consecutive time.
The award is a recognition of the product that THE LOFT has been offering since June 2018. THE LOFT by Brussels Airlines is a combination of ‘Belgitude’ and Japanese hospitality. Inside it is packed with technology, and you would expect from Lexus, has a bias towards design.
Pascal Ruch, Head of Lexus Europe, said: “We are grateful to our customers for their trust and we are delighted to receive this esteemed award for the second consecutive year. The Lexus’ spirit of Omotenashi, the Japan-inspired personalised and exceptional guest experience we bring to our guests is valued this year, more than ever, making a real difference and providing peace of mind for business travellers in today’s uncertain times.
We strongly appreciate the outstanding collaboration with Brussels Airlines and other partners together with whom we share this Award today”.
“Customer centricity is at the heart of everything we do, in normal times and in these extremely challenging circumstances. The fact that we have won the award for ‘Europe’s leading airline lounge 2020’ in the most difficult year our company and the aviation industry have ever experienced makes it all the more valuable. I am extremely grateful to the travel and tourism professionals who voted for THE LOFT, and even more so for the customers who continue to visit THE LOFT in this challenging time.
They give us the energy to reinvent ourselves in times of crisis and to continue offering great experiences, even within the limitations we face due to the current health measures.” added Tanguy Cartuyvels, Head of Customer Experience & Marketing at Brussels Airlines.
THE LOFT by Brussels Airlines and Lexus was officially opened on June 25, 2018. It has been designed to a relaxing space for international travellers and takes inspiration from Lexus luxury, design and Omotenashi hospitality.
The LOFT clearly shows how Lexus has expanded its portfolio far beyond the automotive sector and adds to its reputation as an all-around global luxury brand. If you’ve not had the great pleasure of visiting THE LOFT, you’ll be in for an absolute treat when you do
The lounge extends to an impressive 2040m2 and can seat up to 500 guests. Inside it is divided into separate areas with each offering a variety of features with a distinctly different feel. There is also an area called the break-out space for those wanting to work while on the move, a central bar, comfortable seating zones and let us not forget the very high standard of food on offer.
