Rado, the design watchmaker and proud winner of already 4 Good Design Awards, is honored to announce that the Rado True Thinline, the thinnest high-tech ceramic watch in the world, has won the esteemed Good Design Award 2011.
The Good Design award from the Chicago Athenaeum, Museum of Architecture and Design in conjunction with the European Centre for architecture Art and Urban Studies, began in Chicago in 1950 and remains the oldest and one of the world’s most recognized program for design excellence worldwide. In 2011, the Museum received submission from several thousand of the world’s leading manufacturers and design firms from around the world – among them, the Rado True Thinline.
Rado, the ever innovative Swiss watchmaker, has revolutionized the watch world with the introduction of this magnificent timepiece. With a movement no thicker than a credit card and a case only 5mm thick, the Rado True Thinline is as impressive in form as it is in function. To allow this new ultra thin structure, all of the components have been intensively reworked to ensure they are fully integrated, including the quartz movement that is exclusive to Rado. Totally unique in both design and structure, the Rado True Thinline offers light weight comfort, luxury and sophistication as well as the strength and durability of high-tech ceramics and the uncompromising style of Rado.
