The Yorke Arms is surrounded by some of the most picturesque countryside England has to offer. It is an ideal place to escape the madness, treat your eyes to some natural beauty and breath in some of the renowned fresh Yorkshire air.
Even though I am a die-hard Lancastrian, I have to admit that Yorkshire gives my home county a run for the money and in some ways does put it in the shade! This is particularly true when it comes to picturesque places to stay. Although Lancashire has its fair share of beautiful country inns and hotels, Yorkshire simply has more and a great example of this the Yorke Arms.
Having been forced to close due to the pandemic, the picture-perfect Yorke Arms is now back open with a renewed vigour and is available for private hire.
Aside from its postcard looks, the Yorke Arms has an authentic, homely feel about it. It’s not just perfect for an overnight or weekend stay; it is also ideal for a wide variety of uses including celebrations, weddings, walking expeditions and of course, a proper English holiday. And if you require some more space, the Ramsgill Church and Village Hall which are both closeby are also available to guests.
As you can see from the photo of the Antler suite above, the traditional English country feel is evident throughout. In total there are seventeen bedrooms each having an en-suite. If you’re planning to organise a large get-together, the Yorke Arms is able to accommodate 33 people for an overnight stay.
In addition to the updated bedroom suites, the living room has also been remastered and now contains inviting sofas where guests can gather around a roaring fire during the colder months or simply enjoy the television in the company of friends.
Flexibility was one of the main considerations on the list of improvements at the Yorke Arms. This has resulted in a highly adaptable dining room which can lend itself to multiple uses. Obviously and first and foremost it is a place to eat, but it is also ideal for a boardroom meeting or a wedding room. Outside, there is plenty of space for children to play and future plans include the reinstatement of the tennis court for the more active guest.
If you’re not up for anything too energetic, the kitchen garden is a great place to sit, contemplate and forgot all the world’s troubles and stresses.
