As Brits go the longest they ever have without fillers and botox, Uvence has launched a 100% natural cosmetic procedure using fully-regulated technology capable of resetting the ageing process using stem cell capabilities in London.
As the popularity of beauty treatments has grown considerably in recent years, thousands of Brits have made cosmetic procedures such as dermal fillers and botox a regular part of their lives, with many undergoing treatments as often as every two to three months.
However, as the country enters the seventh week of full lockdown, this represents for many people the longest time spent without any enhancements, as social distancing measures prevent clients from accessing their treatments. With a specific focus on the cosmetic treatment arena, the precautionary pause may have forced many to ask themselves whether their go-to treatments – from fillers and botox to lifts and lipo – is as essential as once perceived.
With this in mind, Uvence has launched a revolutionary innovation in natural cosmetic surgery – creating 100% personalised skin treatments that are standardised for quality, purity and replicability. The Uvence system harnesses the restorative properties of a patient’s own naturally occurring cell repair molecules to create injectable skin treatments or “Super Enriched Tissue”.
With no chemical or other modifications, Uvence empowers both patients and their doctors to provide ready to use, fully personalised treatments on demand. Underpinned by Uvence’s extensive background in cosmetic surgery, biochemistry and logistics, the treatments – carried out by highly experienced plastic surgeons – are prepared and supplied under strict Human Tissue Authority (HTA) regulations, and laboratory tested for purity.
How it works
Uvence creates its personalised products from a patient’s fat cells, which are extracted by an initial micro or mini liposuction. Uvence harnesses the rejuvenating properties of active molecules found within these cells to help improve the look, feel and complexion of problem areas of the skin; including the face, neck, décolletage and hands. Unlike other treatments, the procedure uses completely natural and 100% personalised extracts, which will work only with each patient’s skin with no risk of rejection.
Uvence extracts may be stored for up to five years in a regulated Uvence cryopreservation facility. This gives patients and their doctors the option to have multiple treatments from a single extraction over many years, either as follow on treatments or targeting different areas for rejuvenation. The standardisation of the procedure gives comfort that each treatment will be as reliable as the last.
Currently, Uvence is available at two London practices, performed by highly-qualified plastic surgeons. By the end of 2020, Uvence anticipates being able to treat patients at one of 25 locations across the UK. In the future, the service will be offered to cosmetic doctors dermatologists up and down the country – allowing them, for the first time, to offer Uvence treatments.
What differentiates the service
By harnessing the rejuvenating properties present in a patient’s regenerative cells, the pioneering technology is designed for improving skin quality and bio remodelling. This procedure is entirely natural, complementing dermal fillers and other traditional cosmetic solutions.
Uvence utilises live adipose cells and extracts and filters them to a standardised level, the first time that this has ever been done worldwide. This then allows for a uniform re-application of the cells into a patients skin with a replicable outcome.
The cryopreservation, standardisation and scalability of this product have been six years in the making. It will, in future, allow for a greater number of cosmetic professionals (including cosmetic doctors and dermatologists) to achieve reliable results with nano-fat injection.
Dr Olivier Amar, (above) one of the UK’s top plastic surgeons, commented: “This really is the future of cosmetic skin treatments, it is hugely exciting to see the next step in standardisation and quality for this kind of treatment. The Uvence offering allows access to regenerative and personalised treatments and is the biggest advance in the field for nearly 15 years. In terms of accessibility and convenience, this has never been seen before. The cryopreservation capability allows plastic and cosmetic surgeons alike to provide this treatment on a consistent basis to their patients without the need for further liposuction or tissue extraction.”
Reece Tomlinson, CEO of Uvence, commented on the launch: “This is just the start of a really exciting journey of how we can use our tissue and its rejuvenating properties to naturally lift the look and feel of our skin. While we cannot stop the ageing process, we can slow it down, and that is exactly what a Uvence treatment allows us to do. This kind of treatment ‘resets the clock’ on ageing without the permanence of surgery or potential toxicity of other cosmetic treatments.
By offering this as a minimally invasive procedure, spread potentially over years, it gives patients the opportunity and time to change their beauty routine to highlight the natural benefits of this process. With the cosmetic surgery market expected to be worth $43.9bn by 2025, we believe that Uvence’s process, technology, and storage facilities offer a genuinely game-changing alternative to invasive cosmetic treatments.”
About Uvence
Uvence is the first company to offer personalised Super Enriched Tissue. The Uvence procedure uses natural tissue extracted from a patient that is purified to enhance its regenerative potential.
Dr Olivier Amar, Reece Tomlinson (above) and chairman Dr Chris Donegan have pioneered the standardisation of the treatment after asking leading plastic surgeons what they believe will be the future of the industry. Tomlinson has run several cosmetic companies, including hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler developer, Intraline, and has led companies to the Profit 500 list of Fastest Growing Companies in Canada on three occasions.
Dr Amar has been a leading plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon in the UK and France for over a decade– specialising in minimally invasive techniques to restore, revive and replenish the skin. Dr Donegan is a PhD Biochemist and global expert in Intellectual Property. This combined experience gave them the balance of tools to set out on the Uvence journey.
