Get Geared Up For Some Winter Cycling With Velocio
The Velocio Ultralight Rain Gilet.

The Velocio Winter/Fall 2019 collection is a worthy addition to your cold-weather cycling wardrobe. Here’s why…

Global cycle clothing brand, Velocio, might be a lesser-known label but it’s one that could certainly give the likes of Rapha and Castelli a run for their money.

Their men’s and women’s lines combine premium, built-to-last fabrics sourced from Italian mills, with an obsessive attention to detail and minimalist design.

We were impressed off the bat by the look and feel of their winter/fall 2019 collection.

It’s their most technically advanced range yet, using innovative materials – some built from scratch – while making no sacrifices on the style front. Even better, the pieces are versatile and can be worn from autumn through spring.

Velocio Winter Fall 2019 Collection
The Velocio Ultralight Rain Jacket.

Let’s start with our favourite piece from the range – Velocio’s Ultralight Rain Jacket. This quality rain jacket ticks all the boxes. It’s slim-fitting and feather-light. Extremely breathable and packable. Wind-proof and rain-proof. There’s room underneath for a couple more layers and the jacket has laser-cut slits for easy access to your jersey’s back pockets.

There’s plenty of length in the arms so your wrists stay covered and a long tail protecting you from the splashback. It looks smart too – the striking yellow colourway we tried stood out in a sea of high vis-wearing riders.

Velocio Signature Long Sleeve

Next up, the Signature Long Sleeve is a versatile jersey that can be worn as a mid-layer or on its own. In true Velocio style, it’s made from luxury Italian milled fabric which is super stretchy and sleek-looking. There’s plenty of length in the arms and a snug collar to keep the warmth in. The back pockets are water-resistant and one has a zip for your valuables. We love the on-trend burnt orange colour option – very striking.

Velocio Alpha Long Sleeve

Velocio have layers covered too. Their collection of Alpha thermals were designed to help withstand the sub-zero temperatures of New England and are inspired by alpine climbing and ski mountaineering. Their Alpha Long Sleeve makes for a brilliant layer or jersey, keeping you toasty-warm while feeling practically weightless.

A Merino base-layer is a winter cycling staple and Velocio’s version is well worth a look in.

Their Merino 210 Long Sleeve is versatile enough to be worn every day but has been built with riding in mind, with a longer hem, stretchy fit and sweat-wicking abilities thanks to the brand’s innovative Merino wool and polyester combo.

Velocio’s Recon Snap Jacket
Velocio’s Recon Snap Jacket.

Velocio’s Recon Snap Jacket is another highlight from the range. It’s athleisure for cyclists and designed to be worn on and off your bike. It’s smart-looking, has colourful accents and has the perks of being wind and water-resistant. It’s stretchy so you won’t feel restricted when you’re riding in it and thanks to the fluffy fleece lining it’ll keep you warm. It’s ideal for early winter and spring.

Wash after wash, from the Velocio pieces we tried, the fabrics have shown no signs loosening up or becoming tatty. All in all, Velocio is a brand well worth considering. Their range offers durability, innovation, good looks and a premium finish. What’s not to love?
