There’s nothing more uncomfortable than a hot and clammy ride in the height of summer. You can sweat buckets without the right gear. Add a light breeze or a temperature drop into the mix, and you could end up freezing, as well as being drenched in your own sweat.
That’s why a summer cycling jersey is a staple for any rider’s wardrobe.
But how do you go about choosing the right one?
Keeping dry and cool, and protected from the sun are priorities when it comes to summer cycling wear. You’ll need lightweight, sweat-wicking fabrics, with decent ventilation and sun protection – all features that Velocio’s new summer range has.

Highlights from the new summer release include the Ultralight Jersey in a bold design called “Harvest”, inspired by late summer crops, flowers, and fields. The mesh-style fabric with UPF30 sun protection makes this jersey ideal for the hottest days of the year, helping the body to stay cool and to transfer sweat.
The SE Jersey is another favourite of ours. Coming in two loud prints, it’s crafted from recycled fabrics and features sweat-wicking technology, UPF30 sun protection and reflective trims for visibility.
It’s versatile too, and could see you through until autumn if paired with arm warmers and a gilet. The women’s “Weave” version is inspired by the movement of tall grass and blue summer skies while the men’s bold “Rugby” design is a nod to team and tradition.
