Viajante87 will be hosting six of the best bars and restaurants from across Latin America in London as an homage to the team’s travels through the region, which served as inspiration for the bar.
Viajante87, the neighbourhood cocktail bar in Notting Hill Gate that relaunched in September 2023 under the stewardship of Bar Director Pietro Collina and Brand Manager Veronica Di Pietrantonio, is launching its “The Culture Exchange” takeover series next month, which honours the time the duo spent in Latin America.
Kicking off in February, the series will see some of the best bars and restaurants in Latin America hosted at the bar to showcase their incredible offerings, which would otherwise be almost impossible for consumers to experience.
With venues from regions such as Costa Rica, Colombia, and Peru, the series begins with São Paulo’s SubAstor, which will be taking over the bar in February, after an incredible dinner offering from Metzi duo Luana Sabino and Eduardo Nava Ortiz.
The series will continue each month with bars such as Hanky Panky, Alquimico and Florería Atlántico visiting Viajante87.
On Tuesday, 13th February, the evening will involve a selection of dishes from chefs Luana Sabino and Eduardo Nava Orti of the highly acclaimed restaurant Metzi in São Paulo, which reached No. 18 in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023, with Luana being awarded Forbes 30 under 30 in 2022.
The dinner will run from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm with drinks from the SubAstor and Viajante87 teams and will be followed by a full takeover of the bar from Brazil’s SubAstor, which placed at No. 58 in the 51-100 of 2023’s World’s 50 Best Bars awards, from 9:00 pm to close.
Each of the following takeovers will follow the same format with a once-in-a-lifetime dinner from some of Latin America’s best restaurants and drinks from the region’s best bars.
The schedule for the rest of the year will include Costa Rican Selvática Social Club in March with Diengo Chou, notable Costa Rican chef, writer and sommelier; Florería Atlántico from Buenos Aires, which reached No. 30 in The World’s 50 Best Bars 2023 early April, with chef Marsia Taha, a trailblazing chef from of highly acclaimed Bolivian restaurant Gustu, which reached No. 23 in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023, followed by Hanky Panky from Mexico City, No. 22 in The World’s 50 Best Bars list of 2023 and Casa Oaxaca later that same month.
In May, Viajante87 will be hosting Colombian legend Alquimico, which reached No. 9 in 2023’s list of The World’s 50 Best Bars with restaurant Celele, also of Cartagena, which landed at No. 16 in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023.
The series will culminate in June with Lima’s Sastreria Martinez. Further details will be revealed later this year.
Viajante87, which reopened its doors in September 2023 under the leadership of Bar Director Pietro Collina and Brand Manager Veronica Di Pietrantonio, recently launched its full new menu inspired by the duo’s travels through Latin America.
After six months of travelling through the region, “The Culture Exchange” series is their way of saying thank you for the incredible hospitality shown to them by each of these bars and restaurants.
Individual tickets are available for each of the takeovers or can be purchased as a package for all 6 for £700.
