Let’s face it. Flying can be stressful and takes a toll on your mind and body. Despite a handful of tips, such as staying hydrated and taking time to stretch by airlines, there’s not been a dedicated wellness program to follow when flying at a lofty 45,000 feet until now. Private jet company VistaJet has become the first to launch an enhancing wellness program offering its members a unique pre-, mid and post-flight service. Let’s take a closer look.
Wellness Program
Passenger requirements were very different when the private jet charter company VistaJet launched 20 years ago. For example, the type of champagne served was a top priority. But there’s been a shift in passengers’ needs and focus when flying. Wellness has become a priority, and jet setters want good nutrition, the ability to relax the mind and plenty of quality sleep. VistaJet took note and responded to global demands of having a purposeful travel experience from the skies.
They partnered with trusted experts in wellness around the globe to curate a 360-wellness program through its integrated onboard facilities and services to destinations with well-being at the forefront.
What to Expect
Members can begin their wellness journey before they step on board with a personalised pre-flight consultation on diet and flying routine. VistaJet’s panel of nutritionists can advise on healthy food and drinks and customise in-flight meals according to flyers’ needs and goals.
Jet lag is real and can have consequences on the mind and body. In a bid to minimise jet lag, the team at VistaJet has come up with innovative ways for passengers to enjoy the highest levels of comfort and well-being during the flight.
These include jetlag dynamic daylight simulation to sync to the destination time zone, ergonomic seating on the Global 7500 aircraft to aid posture, and meditation and breathing apps that can be truly enjoyed through Bowers & Wilkins noise-cancelling headphones.
Skin, meanwhile, is kept hydrated with exclusive skincare products from Guerlain’s Orchidée Imperial collection and herbal infusions to sip on from JING.
As the effects of a flight continue post-landing, members can access post-flight wellness guides created by leading physician Dr Jordan Shlain and his team at Private Medical. Guides include jet lag management and hydrating effectively after touchdown.
Wellness destinations
Like most charter companies, VistaJet offers its ultra-high-net-worth passengers exclusive deals at wellness retreats and destinations. Its trusted travel partners include Pelorus and Abercrombie & Kent to present wellness-focused trips to worldwide destinations.
From biohacking treatments to private prayer sessions with the Tibetan Buddhist leader, there is something for everyone seeking to improve their health and well-being from the moment they decide to take that trip.
“A flight should be a natural continuation of our passengers’ lives,” explained Matteo Atti, CMO, during an unveiling of the services at Farnborough Airport. ‘In a day and age where wellness reigns supreme, especially in the luxury sector, it makes sense to continue the trend when you’re flying high.’
