The Duck Group shows a doily isn’t only for making food look beautiful, it can also become a stunning fashion accessory.

Inspiration can come from anywhere, and for fashionista and blogger turned businesswoman Vivy Yusof, the founder of The Duck Group, it came from the cakes and cookies her grandmother used to make for Hari Raya or Eid al-Fitr, the festival to mark the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

But helping her granny make the cakes, however sweet and delicious they were, wasn’t the inspiration behind Vivy’s limited edition new scarf collection.

It was after the cakes and cookies were made, and she helped her grandmother to lay them out on doilies that reminded her how pretty these paper decorations were, and as a result, she felt inspired to use the designs of these doilies on her scarves.

“I have many fond memories with my grandmother,” says Vivy. “I used to take doilies for granted, but they are indeed integral to our festive celebrations.

You can see them everywhere – in cookie jars, on trays and on tables. Designing them was an arduous process, but it was worth every second!”

The recently launched limited edition Doily Duck scarves come in eight gorgeous shades in shawl and square sizes.

They are available in The Duck Stores in Suria KLCC and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, as well as in FashionValet Boutiques as well as on www.fashionvalet.com
