Florist at The Dorchester launches its 2012 series of seasonal Masterclasses run by Designer Florist, Wendy Black.
Alongside The Dorchester’s 2012 Krug Room Culinary Masterclasses, Wendy Black and her team will be hosting a series of fun and informative Florist Masterclasses for floristry enthusiasts throughout the year. Taking place within the luxurious surroundings of The Dorchester’s Spatisserie, Black will pass on tips of the trade, share her insight on floristry design and give guests a unique opportunity to create step-by-step floral masterpieces to take home.
During each class, guests will be involved in the floral design process from start to finish followed by a relaxing treatment at The Dorchester Spa. The day will end with a selection of pastries or Afternoon Tea, depending on the Masterclass, for guests to enjoy within The Spatisserie. Florist at The Dorchester design and create all of the hotel’s stunning floral displays and are requested for private events and home decorating services outside the hotel. Black and her team also see to all the in-room flower arrangements and cater to weddings and events that take place within the hotel.

Mother’s Delight Florist Masterclass
13th March 2012, 2pm – 4.30pm
Surprise mother with a beautiful scented spring bouquet made side by side and learn creative to dress the Mother’s Day table centerpiece. The day finishes with a Shape & Polish at The Dorchester Spa, featuring the latest spring colours, followed by Afternoon Tea in The Spatisserie. £250 per person.
Bridal Florist Masterclass
12th June 2012, 2pm – 4.30 pm
Create a stunning pin and wrist corsage along with a posy-style wedding bouquet for summer weddings. Develop simple wiring techniques and become accomplished at more intricate designs. End the day with a hand treatment at The Dorchester Spa followed by Afternoon Tea in The Spatisserie. £300 per person.
Autumn Tumble Florist Masterclass
16th October 2012, 10am – 12.30pm
Warm up Autumnal evenings by discovering how to hollow out a classic Autumnal pumpkin or gourd. Learn how to create an Autumnal display that will be the talking point of all dinner parties. Class ends with a Shape & Polish at The Dorchester Spa, featuring the latest winter colours, followed by coffee & tea served with a selection of pastries. £300 per person.
Christmas Wreath Florist Masterclass
4th December 2012, 10am-12.30pm
Deck the home for the festive season with Florist at The Dorchester’s Christmas Wreath Florist Masterclass. Under the guidance of Black, make a festive door wreath using a variety of dried fruits and pinecones whilst enjoying a warming glass of mulled wine and mince pies. The class will end with a Shape & Polish at The Dorchester Spa. £250 per person.
Florist at The Dorchester’s Florist Masterclasses can host a maximum of 12 people per class, subject to availability.
