108 Brasserie, a chic restaurant and bar on Marylebone Lane, has collaborated with iconic heritage tea brand Whittard of Chelsea to create new, limited-edition summery cocktails. Below, we take a look at what’s on the menu.
A rising trend of tea-based cocktails is sweeping the city, and in response, the duo has launched a summery tea-infused cocktail menu, ideal for sipping in the sun.
Launching on August 16th and running until September 1st, the cocktail menu boasts fresh, fruity flavours, each with tea-infused syrups made with natural ingredients. The hero cocktail, The Mar-Tea-Ni, showcases Whittard of Chelsea’s popular Passionfruit & Mango Loose Leaf Tea with 108 Brasserie’s very own 108 Gin.
108 Brasserie’s branded gin is made in partnership with the esteemed Hawkridge Distillery and is infused with heady floral notes, a vibrant citrus core, and a subtle hint of Irish honey from Cork. This makes it the ideal flavour component when mixed with the fruity and complex tea from Whittard of Chelsea.
Alongside The Mar-Tea-Ni, there are three more cocktails with light and refreshing botanical tastes. 108 Gin is also available to purchase at The Marylebone Hotel.
Whittard of Chelsea X 108 Brasserie’s new cocktail menu includes:
The 108 Gin Mar-Tea-Ni
Similar to a frothy sour, this crisp and uplifting citrus cocktail mixes 108 Gin with Whittard of Chelsea’s Passionfruit & Mango Loose Leaf Tea and plant-based aquafaba. Served in a chilled martini glass, it is a classy pour.
The Earl of London
Enjoy a syrup made with Whittard of Chelsea’s Earl Grey Loose Leaf Tea combined with punchy bourbon. This cocktail also blends real raspberry jam and vegan aquafaba. The finish is a delicate and sweet taste of fruity Earl Grey, accentuated with a garnish of dehydrated lemon and served long.
Blushing Bellini
A tea-infused twist on a bellini served in an elegant Champagne glass, this cocktail blends rosé Champagne, a syrup made from Whittard of Chelsea’s popular Peach, Raspberry & Rose Loose Infusion, lemon juice, and a pop of citric acid to create a truly thirst-quenching tipple.
The Passion
A twist on a daiquiri and with a vibrant orange dusting on the glass, this blend mixes white rum with Whittard of Chelsea’s Passionfruit & Mango Loose Leaf Tea. A passionfruit spritz is sprayed onto the rim of the glass, so with each sip, you experience the scent of sunshine and tropical islands.
The cocktails are best enjoyed after a long day shopping in Marylebone Village, on the beautiful terrace or in the elegant cocktail bar, nestled through the restaurant, or via a private entrance on the corner of Welbeck and Bulstrode Street.
The cocktails make the ideal accompaniment to a long, lazy lunch at 108 Brasserie, where French-inspired dishes such as Chicken Milanese with lemon zest, capers, and rocket, Tuna niçoise with soft-boiled hen’s egg, and Miso-glazed black cod are served, amongst other brasserie-style dishes.
