Fancy adding an 18k gold plated Peperami to your jewellery collection? The people behind ‘the animal’ have created the most extravagant version of the pork snack so far and it’s available to purchase now via the Engravers Guild of London.
Yes, we know a luxurious version of a Peperami snack which can be worn around your neck is not an obvious choice, but given how hugely popular this snack is, it will undoubtedly have wide appeal.
The gold Peperami takes its inspiration from the snack’s original wrapper and replicates its well-known shape and design. Although we’ve initially referred to it as the ‘gold Peperami’, it is silver at its core and plated with 18k gold.
It’s quite a weighty piece coming in a 295g. Essentially it is a rather extravagant holder for a Peperami which provides instant access to the snack as soon as the hunger pangs strike.
We’d guess that some of your reading this will be saying to yourself “you must be kidding me, right?” We’re not; it is an actual product you can buy now!
The gold plated Peperami is designed to be a fashion statement and is aimed at the snacks superfans. We understand that even before it was launched, the Dancing on Ice judge and Diversity dancer, Ashley Banjo was captivated.
The gold plated Perperami was developed in conjunction with the Engravers Guild of London, using traditional methods and took 56 hours to make.
To make it, jewellery experts moulded the wrapper out of sterling silver, then used a diamond cutter to replicate the iconic logo. The pendant was then coated with 18k gold using an electroplating process.
The made-to-order gold plated Peperami will be available to purchase for a limited time from the Engravers Guild of London website.
For those that don’t have £1500 to spend, there is some good news. A mini version is also available priced at £75. Like it’s significant sibling, this is made from sterling silver and plated in 18k Gold.
How to win one
If you’d like one but don’t want to spend £1500, Peperami is holding a simple social media competition where you can win one. All you need to do is participate in one of the brands #MeatTheBeat challenges which will be running across social media until the end of September.
The three challenges will see four celebrities; queen of the jungle, Jacqueline Jossa, Britain’s Got Talent superstars, Ashely Banjo and Perri Kiely, and football freestyler, Liv Cooke, show the nation what it means to have ‘Flava’.
Going head to head with each other and the rest of the nation, the star-studded group, is hoping to start a chain reaction with others participating and joining in on the fun, tagging the brand using the hashtag.
