22 Ships will be hosting a very special six-hands collaborative charity lunch on the 28th of November with Mono & Ando in support of the victims of the La Palma volcanic eruption, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated towards the World Central Kitchen.
On Sunday the 28th of November, 22 Ships will be hosting a special charity lunch together with two other award-winning outlets by JIA Group, Andō and MONO. The lunch is seeking to raise much-needed funds to aid those affected by the Cumbre Vieja volcanic eruption on the Spanish island of La Palma.
Seven weeks on, there is still no scientific evidence to suggest that the eruption will end anytime soon, and rescue efforts are currently ongoing. The eruption has now destroyed over 200 homes, forced over 6,000 people to evacuate, and lava continues to flow, covering over 380 acres of land.
22 Ships will donate all proceeds from the 22 Ships x La Palma lunch to World Central Kitchen (WCK), a non-profit, governmental organization devoted to providing meals to those affected in the wake of natural disasters. Founded in 2010 by celebrity chef Jose Andres, WCK acts as first-responders, working with local chefs to provide immediate solutions to disasters around the world.
Working together with Chefs Ricardo Chaneton (below) of refined Latin American restaurant MONO (#44 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021) and Agustin Balbi (above left) of 1-MICHELIN-starred Andō, 22 Ships’ Chef Antonio Oviedo (above right) presents an exclusive lunch tasting menu priced at HK$1,588 per guest, with all proceeds going towards relief efforts by World Central Kitchen.
Highlights of the special collaborative Canarian cuisine 8-course menu includes an appetizer of Sopa de Millo by Ricardo Chaneton, featuring luscious Nomad caviar with corn soup and grilled avocado, Langosta en Salpicon by Antonio Oviedo, a shared dish of grilled spiny lobster, pimiento Palmera and Pochas, and Arroz Caldoso by Agustin Balbi, an individual portion of the chef’s signature comforting bomba rice, grilled carabineros and chistorra.
Guests may enjoy drinks such as a glass of Canarian Malvasia 2019 white wine (HK$98), 7 Fuentes, Listan Negro 2018 red white (HK$98), and special and exclusive cocktails will be available at the charity lunch. Some examples are refreshing creations such as Banana-Infused Gin, Soda, Chamomile (HK$118), Canary Gin Tonic (HK$118) and Ronmiel Old Fashioned (HK$118).
